Laboratory Solids Mixer and Dry
The laboratory VPT/VST solids mixer-dryer allows users to carry out bulk solids blending or drying tests in a vertical apparatus, as well as manufacture small batches of high valued products. The basic unit consists of a cylindrical jacketed mixing vessel, which has a capacity to 5-L, depending on the agitator impeller type used. In addition to the PARAVISC for mixing and drying free flowing solids, the ISOPAS impeller is also available. The impeller enables the user to handle difficult products having a paste-like consistency or non-free-flowing cohesive solids. Other agitator impellers such as helical ribbons, screw mixers or impellers for liquid applications can be supplied as optional extras. The control system measures and displays pressure, temperature, agitator shaft speed and torque parameters. Other features include a CIP valve and sampling valve that allows the user to sample in situ. Accessories such as a heater/chiller package, a vacuum pump with condensers for solvent recovery, and a mobile base are also available. The unit can also be provided in 25-L, 50-L and 100-L pilot scale sizes.
